FK8 Civic Type R high HP Intercooler with crash bar. We are using Garrett 1000hp rated Intercooler cores measuring roughly 24x12x3.8". Factory mounting points on the bottom and top mounts go to the tubular crash bar. We provide the crash bar because the factory aluminum crash bar is in the way and won't allow the extra height you get with our IC. We make the end tanks with rolled ends to help with smooth transition and flow. The tanks are tig welded inside and out to eliminate cracking from high boost pressures. We have already seen 850+hp through one of these setups and are sure to see more as this platform progresses. Standard inlet is 2.5" and outlet is 3" bead rolled ends for couplers. This can be changed if needed, or if you are not sure what would be best for your setup just reach out through email.
We have an option to select if you want to put the Blow Off Valve flange on the intercooler end tank. It's not necessary in this location as it can go on the charge piping. It's a nice touch to keep velocity in the piping up without disturbing airflow with the wierd edge from the hole on the side of the pipe.
Right now we do not provide charge piping with these. There are a lot of variables at play when you get into these high hp applications, such as turbo size, throttle body size, intake manifold choice, turbo manifold choice that will affect the charge pipe size and placement. We may offer something in the future to work with common parts, until then a local fabricator should be able to take care of piping for you.
