Cover plate to hide the big unsightly hole that is exposed when adding a quick release steering wheel. This model currently only fits Ek civic fro 96-00. We plan to release a model for Eg followed by other chassis. We have these available in a few styles shown in the photos, including brushed aluminum, brushed titanium, slot design, or burnt titanium. All necessary hardware is provided

We had a few people asking about how to fasten the EK steering column cover plates. Here are a few photos and an explanation.
The first step is to attach the cover plate using the phillips screw we provide. The screw goes into the factory mounting point (pictured with the yellow arrow) on the bottom right of the hub. Tighten the screw to a light snug fit, DO NOT over tighten. (This step can be done without removing the quick release hub but it is a tight squeeze to fit our cover plate around it, we suggest removing it.)
Next, there are alignment arrows on the inside edge that should line up to the seam on the plastic clamshell. While the arrows are lined up drill the rivet holes through the top two mounting points on the cover plate. Using a 1/8" drill bit and a drill, carefully drill through the holes on the plate to penetrate through the plastic top cover. Careful not to let the plate move while drilling (after the first hole is drilled you can temporarily stick one of the rivets in the hole to keep it from moving).
After the holes are drilled remove the top plastic oem cover. We proved backing washers for the rivets to grab when tightening down. The back of the plastic may need to be trimmed slightly with a razor blade for clearance of the backing washer. Then tighten the rivets down with a rivet gun with the backing washers in place on the inside of the clamshell. (See pics)
***Once our cover plate is riveted onto the oem plastic cover it will not slide over the quick release hub.***
(A few people asked if the cover can be installed without removing the quick release hub, the answer is yes, but we recommend removing the hub for best installation of the rivets.)
***If you cannot remove your hub you will have to rivet the cover plate in place while it is still attached to the column and you will not be able to use the backing washers.***
Click the oem top plastic cover back in place and tighten the Phillips screw back down to a light snug fit. (DO NOT over tighten!)
Reinstall your Hub onto the column and installation is complete!
This is a pretty simple installation, but now its written out for anyone that needs it, and the pictures should help also!
